Job Summary:
The Industrial Sandblaster is responsible for cleaning and preparing surfaces of manufactured products for painting. This includes smoothing rough spots, removing paint or rust, preparing objects for coating, adhering to safety standards, and assisting with final product preparation for shipment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare surfaces for coating using methods like sandblasting, hand sanding, and cleaning with solvents.
- Operate and maintain sandblast booths and equipment, including compressors, filters, hoses, and nozzles.
- Perform maintenance on sandblasting equipment and ensure cleanliness to prevent clogs or damage.
- Utilize material handling equipment like hand trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes to position fabricated parts.
- Comply with chemical storage and waste disposal regulations.
- Adhere to safety standards and assist with preparing final products for shipment.

Required Skills/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of industrial sandblasting experience (preferred).

- Must be able to wear a respirator and demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Work Environment:
The role operates in a manufacturing environment using sandblast equipment and material handling tools. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
Physical Demands:
The position requires wearing a respirator, reaching into tight spaces, positioning oneself at various height levels, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities, including close vision and depth perception, are necessary.
