Welder II
Location : Gorham, Maine
Job Summary :
As a Welder II, you will be responsible for welding various types of metals and alloys, assembling metal fabrications, and ensuring high-quality work through precise execution. This role requires proficiency in working with specifications, drawings, and weld symbols, as well as the ability to prepare and complete work using a variety of welding, cutting, grinding, and sanding techniques.
Essential Functions :
- Prepare parts for welding using hand tools, including clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
- Perform welding operations using approved processes such as FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
- Cut, grind, and sand metal materials to prepare for fabrication and assembly.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accuracy in welding and fabrication.
- Monitor processes to prevent overheating, distortion, and other material defects.
- Conduct quality checks to verify work falls within specified tolerances.
- Tag finished products for identification and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Operate equipment such as overhead cranes and follow strict safety protocols.
- Notify supervisors of defective materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Weld components in multiple positions, including 1G, 2G, and 3G.
