QA / QC Field Technician inspects, evaluates, and analyzes aerial and underground facilities for compliance with applicable internal and external safety and regulatory standards. This role provides occasional repair guidance and suggestions, contributes to the entry and maintenance of an asset compliance management database systems and work with others to ensure compliance. QA / QC Field Technicians understand and apply construction standards, as well as applicable asset owner, state, and federal standards. They monitor and maintain inspections schedules and provide quality assurance of the Locate vendor performance on compliance repairs as directed. Compliance employees ensure that the network is built in a safe manner throughout the system and when working on correcting infractions that safety and cost reduction are key.
Essential Position Functions :
- Inspects Outside Plant based on applicable schedules.
- Understands applicable State and NESC standards and regulations.
- Understands high-risk geographic regions and driving factors.
- Assigns infractions with relevant level of severity.
- Enter information into the database.
- May review make ready work with contractors.
- May issue work to construction contractors
- May issue work to Locate vendors.
- May coordinate the Service Drop conversions - getting off jump poles (if so desired) or other poles where clearances cannot be met to remove a violation.
- May participate in ordering materials for various vendors and / or forecasting material needs.
- Inspects and QC's Contractor work.
- Completes as-built mapping
- May assist in Locating and QCing (quality control) of facilities.
