SUMMARY:
The Clearinghouse Self-Sufficiency Specialist under the direction of the emPower Process Manager, will provide timely assistance to eligible participants and resource referrals for participants. Primary duties include: uploading required documents into the CRM database, professional communication with energy vendors and participants, and empathetic customer service. The Clearinghouse Self-Sufficiency Specialist is responsible for knowledge and understanding of MEAP grant requirements and program policies, precise data collection and entry, accurate and meaningful resource referral.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Be thoroughly familiar with MPSC MEAP grant and funding and other approved assistance grants, their conditions and eligibility criteria;
- Provide excellent customer service and promote participant self-sufficiency;
- Accurately input data, upload, and track information in the CRM database;
- Obtain accurate information for utility vendor to order deliverables and make commitments on eligible participants’ accounts;
- Provide appropriate solutions to emergency situations including placing holds on participant accounts and contact proper emPower staff for issue resolution;
- Inform participants of program expectations and processes including direct assistance and Affordable Payment Plans;
- Effective and professional communication with participants, vendors, partners, and colleagues;
- Timely completion of all PayCor entries in accordance with TrueNorth policies and procedures;
- Maintain home work environment in accordance to TrueNorth policy and procedures;
- Represent TrueNorth in a professional manner when conducting work;
- Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules, and regulations provided by TrueNorth;
- Regular and consistent attendance;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Attend all staff meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.

- A working knowledge of the barriers and challenges for low-income households
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate initiative in analyzing consumer problems and recommending appropriate solutions
- Ability to problem solve, exercise good discretion and judgment when making independent decisions
- Possess and demonstrate the skill to effectively coordinate multiple projects with short deadlines;
- Ability to work with a variety of systems, agencies, databases and individuals while exhibiting excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain records and prepare verbal and written reports
- Ability to explain program policies and procedures to participants and families
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, employees, participants and families
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Customer service experience required
- Excellent basic computer skills and ability to learn the use of the CRM database required
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, and PDF platforms preferred
- Some college education preferred; knowledge of grants preferred
- Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred
