What are the responsibilities and job description for the GM of Wholesale Operations position at Truenorth/Shell Stores?
Purpose: Develop and lead implementation of a strategic plan that profitably grows the fuel business organically and provides an opportunity for entry into new lines of business.
Will lead and develop the dealer district manager sales team. Establish sales processes and methodologies to optimize sales efficiency and effectiveness. Provide feedback and take appropriate action to achieve sales results maximizing profit. Target and identify new markets and opportunities for growth. Develop and build lasting relationships with customers and prospects to achieve business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze sales and operational reports, use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets and to identify potential new markets.
- Lead the review and development of strategies to profitably and efficiently expand the company’s reach into unbranded, commercial/industrial, government bid, and/or other lines of business as agreed with Executive Leadership.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts to maximize profitability for the organization.
- Further develop existing relationships and establish new business relationships throughout current or target markets.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, marketing and techniques etc.
- Manage rebranding and construction projects including working with contractors and vendors.
- Develop and implement District Manager territories, initiatives, profitability targets, and approves expenses.
- Maintain knowledge of markets, competition and best practices and trends in sales techniques and strategies.
- Ensure physical facilities in dealer network meet Brand standards and work with sales team to address deficiencies.
- Through sales team, achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly business objectives
- Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field preferred.
· 8 years’ sales leadership experience, with oil and energy industry experience preferred.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, word and excel.
· Demonstrated ability to work with/through others to achieve desired results.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills; organized and flexible
- Ability to analyze financials, including P&L statements
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company’s motor vehicle insurance policy.
- Must be highly motivated, have a strong sense of urgency, initiative and able to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts finding mutually agreeable solutions
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing and reaching throughout the course of the shift. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
