A materials handler position is available at TrueNorth Steel, where you will be responsible for handling and moving materials throughout the facility. This role requires efficient and safe operation of equipment to unload, load, and distribute materials with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and move materials as required, including unloading in-bound material, loading out-bound material, or distributing material to various operation areas.
- Efficiently and safely operate applicable equipment, such as forklifts, with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with team members verbally and non-verbally.
- Work efficiently in all forms of weather (wind, heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, or weekends as needed.
- Attend work on time and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Exhibit strong skills in material identification and organizational abilities.
- Exhibit basic computer skills and ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions, and read tape measures in imperial and metric units.
