What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Estimator position at TrueNorth Steel?
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service in the structural steel industry.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete material take-offs for structural and miscellaneous steel.
- Working up and completing accurate estimates.
- Review design drawings and specifications using discretion, best judgment and evaluation of industry standards and practices to minimize various possibilities of risk.
- Coordinate with other estimators, sub contractors, and vendors to make sure that the full scope of a project is covered.
- Entering and maintaining project information into sales software.
- Research upcoming projects and aid in developing customer base.
- Back up to project management department when needed.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
