POSITION: Quality Supervisor
SPLIT SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 5:00 pm (Frequent Overtime on Fridays)
PAY RATE:$35.00 per hour (DOE)
LOCATION: Mandan, ND
TrueNorth Steel is hiring a Quality Supervisor for its Mandan location! The Quality Supervisor is responsible for following the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures to ensure customer expectations are met. This includes both Quality Control and some Quality Assurance activities in support of all departments for cross-functional success.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for following the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures to ensure customer expectations are met. This includes both Quality Control and some Quality Assurance activities in support of all departments for cross-functional success. This position also includes the supervision of the Quality Control Inspectors at the site as per the Organizational Chart.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Follow all company safety and quality requirements

Supervise and provide leadership for the Quality Control (QC) Inspectors.

Oversee the day to day quality activities in order to maintain and communicate facility and corporate metrics and objectives

Follow all necessary TNS Document System procedures and processes.

Complete incoming, in-process, and final inspections

Document and segregate non-conforming material and workmanship

Record Non-Conformances, Corrective Actions, and Preventive Actions into the SharePoint Quality Database

Apply problem solving techniques and/or root cause analysis
-
Review Non-Conformances, Corrective Actions, and Preventive Actions from the SharePoint Quality Database with Facility Management to identify and implement continuous improvement

Verify Material Test Reports (MTRs) and similar documents for required information upon receipt of materials
-
Maintain calibration and verification of tools and measuring equipment

Maintain AWS CSI and applicable certification

Ensure Welding Specification Procedures (WPS) are current and in place for projects

Supervise and/or conduct Welder Qualification Test Reports (WQTR) to AWS and/or ASME

Maintain the Welder Continuity Log

Organize and record quality related training activities

Represent the company, as needed, on field issues requiring investigation and decisions associated with product quality and conformance.

Able to work flexible schedules and overtime or weekends when needed

Prompt and dependable attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES

Must have general computer experience along with experience using spreadsheet and word processing programs

Welding inspection

Applicable standards knowledge such as: AWS, ASME

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

5 years welding experience, or equivalent training in fabrication of steel products preferred

3 years QC Inspector experience (or equivalent) preferred

AWS Certified Weld Inspector (within 1-2 years of employment) preferred
