Shipping / Material Handler - Day Shift

Truform Manufacturing LLC is located in Dickson Tennessee approximately 40 minutes to the West of Nashville Tennessee and is a TS16949 / ISO9001 supplier to the automotive and appliance industries.

Truform Manufacturing incorporates metal stamping, robotic MIG welding and automated high speed assembly operations in its modern, ultra clean facilities. The recent addition of brand-new Amada CNC Press Brakes, Fiber Lasers and CNC Turret press capability has greatly expanded Truform’s ability to produce superior parts in a “just in time” environment.

Truform Manufacturing is looking for a Shipping / Material Handler to join our team on our day shift!

This position works within the shipping and receiving area working with transport documentation as well as digital scanners, barcode readers, labeling hardware and computerized database systems. This position requires excellent visual, reading and numerical skills with the ability to work with attention to detail. The Shipping/Material Handler is responsible for verifying records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing to quality and productivity standards.

The hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent 1 year experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing facility
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Licensed forklift truck operator (or ability to become qualified)
• Self-starter who can work independently
• Available to work overtime (if required)

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
• Operates the stretch wrap banders
• Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit
• Establish a working knowledge of the Truform Business System
• Supports an acceptable level of 5S standards in the shipping area
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods
• Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
• Other assignments as required

Physical demands and work environment:

• Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, twist, and climb
• Must have fine motor skills to grasp and manipulate small parts
• Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds or more
• Must be able to work around loud noise, moving mechanical parts and vibration
