As a nonprofit, mission-driven entity, we offer access to affordable loan capital and business development services to small businesses and nonprofit organizations that are financially viable but have difficulty accessing affordable capital from banks or other conventional lenders. We also have field offices in Louisiana (New Orleans and Baton Rouge) and Alabama (Birmingham).

Summary:

The position is responsible for on-going portfolio operations activities, and data reporting for a moderate risk small business loan portfolio. Ensuring overall portfolio performance and when necessary surfaces issues and collaborates with others on strategies and actions to limit risk and loss to the organization.  Individual will also use internal systems and reports to address the following tasks.

Primary Functions:

  • Generate reports for the Board of Directors, Credit Administration, the Business Development Team and funders on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Generate system reports to determine trends in payment history and financial performance of borrowers.
  • Review, analyze, compare, and interpret financial and other information; determine the follow-up needed to address issues within the portfolio.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of existing borrowers for delinquencies in payment.
  • Prepare delinquency reports in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Review loans for accuracy of risk rating and make adjustments, as necessary.
  • Prepare modifications of loan terms, as necessary.
  • Maintain frequent verbal and written communication with delinquent borrowers.

 Qualifications – Education and Related Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, equivalent work experience may be considered as alternative to formal degree program completion.
  • Strong Operational Systems Understanding
  • 2-4 years of experience and exhibited competency in risk administration practices.
  • Exhibits knowledge of Commercial and/or Small Business lending practices, processes and legal documents.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and customer service skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; must be proficient in Windows-based software; strong emphasis on Excel and spread sheet modeling required, including pivot tables and lookup formulas

 Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong operating system processing and payment process experience with proficient excel skills is a plus.
  • Capable of performing operating system analyses.
  • Develops expertise in technology systems utilized by the organization to manage the business.
  • Displays and is able to articulate the purpose of loan documentation. Differentiates between notes, agreements and mortgages and understands the purpose of each.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to work effectively in both a team setting and individually.
  • Must be able to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet all required deadlines

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.

This job is performed remote as work-from-home.
