ROLE SUMMARY
The Legal Specialist will provide functional support to ensure the successful delivery of TruGrid projects. This position sits within the Legal group, and reports to the Commercial Contracts Manager. While this role is somewhat self-directed, the incumbent will have full support from all legal group members. This position is located in Houston TX (hybrid schedule), however remote work will be considered. Working hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm local time. Additional working hours and times may be required as needed to accommodate time zone differences and project needs. This position is expected to travel less than 10% of allotted time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
In this functional support role, the Legal Specialist will:
- Support supply chain staff to secure appropriate purchase agreements for materials and services, including reviewing and revising contract terms for legal compliance, liaising with vendor personnel as needed, and ensuring alignment within the project contracting scheme.
- Understand prevailing wage requirements for TruGrid projects and ensure compliance throughout subcontracting tiers, including assisting subcontractors with project reporting, ensuring reporting compliance, and delivering status reports to management and clients as required.
- Support the Commercial Manager with contract management needs, including liaising with project delivery and functional team members to gather project information and prepare communication materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu thereof.
- Experience with contract administration is required; experience with supply chain contracting is a plus.
- Experience in the construction or engineering services industry is a plus.
- Must be able to work with limited oversight
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
