What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Manager position at TruGrocer Federal Credit Union?
Purpose: The Branch Manager will perform a wide range of operational and managerial activities at the Credit Union, taking ultimate responsibility for the member experience and leading and supporting branch employees to do the same.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises a Credit Union branch; ensures staffing during office hours with competent employees; handles employee performance evaluations; recruits, selects, trains, and motivates employees, while holding them accountable to established standards and policy; provides administrative office with required new employee documentation.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Credit Union services and technical advancements; learns new procedures with minimal supervision and implements as required.
- Develops knowledge of Credit Union technical systems and assists employees with operational problems.
- Represents Credit Union in a positive manner to members, staff and community.
- Assists administrative office in marketing and implementing new programs; distributes promotional materials as required.
- Oversees and is able to perform all regularly recurring operational duties at the Credit Union branch including, but not limited to: deposits and withdrawals; enrollment of new members; opening Certificates, IRAs and share draft (checking) accounts; loan processing; contacting delinquent accounts under 30 days in arrears; loan policies and compliance with Truth in Lending; Credit Union rates; end of day balancing; VISA Gift/Travel card issuance and balancing; vault cash orders and balancing.
- Communicates consistently with Credit Union leadership regarding any procedural, employee, or workload problems; makes recommendations as required.
- Collaborates with Facilities Coordinator to manage and recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies as needed; ensures neatness and orderliness in the office; maintains adequate supply of forms to perform Branch operations; contacts Facilities Coordinator to schedule services as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to Credit Unions and ensures branch compliance.
- Manages the security and safety of the Branch; analyzes security and safety policies and procedures; trains employees on security procedures, in collaboration with Training Coordinator; alerts employees to any changes.
- Maintains Branch expense account; issues expense checks as required; obtains Management approval on expenses exceeding $300; submits documentation to main office monthly.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with grocery employees, managers, and business owners in the community, as well as the general public.
- Coordinates and manages community growth projects.
- Creates and maintains a list of local businesses to be contacted for business communication programs.
- Collaborates with business owners and managers and prepares periodic reports concerning businesses.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Incumbent must be able to move throughout the Credit Union and perform a variety of physical activities to accomplish the goals of the Credit Union. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, open fire-proof filing cabinets and lift up to 45 lbs. Manual dexterity in the operation of computer keyboards is required. Working conditions are characterized in part by normal office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment sitting at a table, desk or computer terminal within a cubicle setting. Incumbent may be required to work extended hours during system problems and/or to complete special projects. Overnight travel to Boise to attend the Credit Union’s Annual Meeting in March of each year is required.
