This position is a subject matter expert responsible for effectively managing and identifying risks within the Truist Corporate Services organization.Such risk management services include identifying existing and emerging risks, evaluating the magnitude of such risks and related business ramifications, participation in managing the acceptance or mitigation of the identified risks, and development and implementation of suitable monitoring processes related to identified risks.
This will be hybrid work schedule, candidate will be based in either: Atlanta, Charlotte or Richmond.
A point of contact responsible for coordinating risk management activities for assigned line of business.
Provide oversight and facilitates Operational Risk assessments/reviews, (may include, but not limited to, Risk Control Self-Assessment, Enterprise Change Risk Assessments, IT Risk Assessments, BSA/AML/OFAC Assessment, Internal Audit, SOC-1, and Surprise Custody Exams, as applicable).
Provides risk management support to projects designed to improve processes, and implement controls.
Responsible for documenting and reporting risk policy exceptions to risk committee.
Investigates root causes of operational risks and provide support to mitigate risk.
Maintains documentation for risk management and risk policies and procedures.
Provides oversight and management of open risk and audit issues.
Performs risk analysis looking for patterns, trends and failures in internal controls and provides recommendations for process and procedures to correct identified gaps.
Incident Review & Analysis - conducts reviews on reported incidents, aiming to define common risk themes and issues, and put forward suggestions for remediation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Banking, Risk Management or relevant field.
6 years’ work experience in audit, operations, process engineering, or risk management in the financial services industry.
Ability to apply risk management concepts, analysis to support management in identification and assessment of risk
Working knowledge of large bank, securities, and trust regulations and risk frameworks, including FINRA, SEC, ERISA, and other applicable federal and state law.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Interacts with middle management levels.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously; acts autonomously on most decisions.
Proficient in technology applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
