The Wholesale Analytics Data Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams and LOB partners to create the strategy and drive solutions to constantly shifting Wholesale business problems and needs. The incumbent is responsible for developing and delivering a roadmap to work with enterprise data partners to prioritize the data sources and views to align with Wholesale strategy, as well as identifying the best tools and approach to enable the rest of Wholesale analytics organization to deliver adhoc requests, large projects, and self service capabilities effectively and efficiently. Responsible for aligning Wholesale data architecture and processes with the Truist governance standards while balancing need to deliver robust data sets that meet partners needs. Ensure processes deliver data that is accurate, complete, current, understandable and accessible. Manage a team of data wranglers responsible for sourcing, analyzing, documenting and maintaining data sets related to Wholesale business and operational processes as well as data engineers responsible for the subject matter expertise of many critical data area.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Create an overarching strategy for Wholesale data including identifying optimal data sources and tools to support data needs of the team and business partners; work closely with enterprise data partners and technology to ensure essential data is sourced and ingested into the enterprise data layer; oversee prioritization and provide logic for standardization at the enterprise layer, curated views, and productionalization of standard processes.
- Lead team to research, analyze, design, develop and/or maintain data sources in support of projects, information needs and business requirements. Lead team to perform analysis, validation and interpretation or outputs. Take ownership of issues through resolution, including close coordination between LOB and other partners.
- Responsible for talent acquisition, coaching and organization of data engineers possessing highly technical skills, an understanding of business processes, natural curiosity, and a drive to excellence in pursuit of business optimization and impact. Perform managerial duties related but not limited it workload balancing, appraisals, hiring and team training.
- Utilize the full array of reporting technique options including static, OLAP and dashboard functionality dependent on the specifications and abilities. Work closely with the rest of Wholesale Analytics concerning data organization, transformation, formatting, validation to define and implement analytic output objectives.
- Participate in internal and external forums to share knowledge and keep abreast of technological advancements around the banking industry.
- Foster communication and recommendations across all levels of the organization including engagement with senior leadership, EDA and peer organizations.

- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Proven experience with data wrangling and ability to manage large data volumes.
- Demonstrate understanding of data analytics life cycle methodologies including data cleansing and preparation methodologies
- Strong familiarity with data extraction in a variety of environments (e.g., SQL, SAS, etc.) and technical programming skills, exposure to applied data science tools and familiarity with data visualization BI tools
- Maintain a high level of competency in analytical principles, tools, and techniques.
