Job Title: Interim Controller
Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid
Duration: Approximately 4-6 months
Compensation: $55 - $60/Hr.
Overview:
A mid-size company in Minneapolis is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide leadership and oversight. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with the executive team, manage the accounting function, and support strategic financial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to best practices
- Evaluate and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to support compliance and financial integrity
- Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team to support decision-making
- Address and resolve complex accounting matters as needed
- Collaborate with external auditors and consultants during audits or special projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Prior experience as a Controller or similar leadership role
- Prior experience with a small to mid-size companies
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Knowledgeable with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities
