Description
JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
Ensures the overall function of the restaurant by making sure that the front of house is fully stocked with clean dishes. Provides extra assistance with food prep using safe food handling procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes in a timely fashion as they enter the dish room
- Soak and scrub dishes that require heavy cleaning
- During prime service hours, stay focused on designated tasks
- When your station is ready for service, see who else may need help with prepping and getting ready
- Keep your work station clean and organized
- Practice safe knife handling; if training is needed, see the Chef
- Respect each co-workers and managers
- Always look for ways to be productive when there is time to spare
- Open/close the kitchen properly and follow the opening/closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen. Do not leave until a manager has checked your station over.
- Confide in the manager or assistant manager if problems with a co-worker arise so that appropriate actions can be taken
- Come in promptly and in full uniform for all scheduled shifts, including mandatory meetings
- Discuss with manager or assistant manager requested days off; requested days off must be approved and need to be submitted 2 weeks in advance.
- Follow and abide by all policies written in employee handbook
- Have fun at work; leave baggage at the door; come to work with a positive attitude ready and willing to help create a positive experience for our guests

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and/or Training: Some previous kitchen experience preferred but not mandatory.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.lift, carry, deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the work shift, balance serving tray on one hand while distributing orders to customers with the other, carry and set up folding table to support particularly heavy orders, stand and walk continually throughout a four to eight hour shift, bend, stoop and reach while carrying serving trays weighing up to 50 pounds, take customer orders, review customer bills and smoothly navigate dining room, kitchen and other facility areas, attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
