Dining Supervisor Overview & Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Dining Supervisor provides full-scope, hands-on serving functions in the community culinary department. Responsible in always providing a superior level of quality service and cleanliness. This role is leading the front of house service in all dining and bar areas and is responsible for overseeing the performance of the servers and bussers. This role will assist the Director of Culinary Experience by supporting them in managing the front-of-house operations, which includes scheduling associates to ensure all outlets are staffed appropriately to deliver exceptional service. Will have assigned opening and/or closing duties as directed by the Director of Culinary Experience.

Dining Supervisor DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Always exemplify community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.
  2. Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards always.
  3. Always exhibit dining room appearance and presentation standards.
  4. Exhibit serving standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  5. Set tables and maintain workstations in proper order. Take order, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.
  6. Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, assist with dish washing, and reset tables.
  7. Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.
  8. Knowledge of diets provided and served correctly by policy and procedure.
  9. Representing the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment.
  10. Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual team member engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
  11. The Community embraces a culture of hospitality. To that end, all team members are expected as a condition of employment to practice excellent customer service in all interactions with residents, fellow team members, and guests.
  12. Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the community; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to function in this position.
  13. Assure resident safety.
  14. Follow written and oral directions.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of residents and community information.
  16. Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
  17. Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.
  18. Participate in interdisciplinary team and other community meetings as assigned or requested.
  19. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, co-workers, physicians, families, consultant personnel and other ancillary service providers.
  20. Observe all community safety policies and procedures.
  21. Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to established procedures.
  22. Come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
  23. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, comply with attendance policy.
  24. Assume accountability for data contained in the team member handbook.
  25. Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.
  26. Observe infection control procedures.
  27. Always Follow Residents’ Rights policies.
  28. Observe all community policies and procedures.
  29. Accept assigned duties, instructions or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of authority according to state procedures. Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during regular duties, to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and team members.
  30. Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner

Dining Supervisor Qualifications

  • Experience in food service work and working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to follow approved, standardized recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets.
  • Ability to routinely process written information as in policies and procedures, posted notices, instruction materials. Complete forms and other written documentation. Observe resident actions, gestures, facial expressions.
  • Must be mobile. Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
  • Possesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity. Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
  • Required to participate in Covid-19 testing as requested by administration, ownership or the State Regulatory Agencies.
  • Required to receive or provide documentation of the Covid-19 Vaccine, excluding religious or medical exemptions.
  • Required to receive the annual Flu vaccine, excluding religious or medical exemptions.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
