FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Truluck Roadway Services, LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman for construction projects located within the tri-county area (Charleston, Berkeley & Dorchester). Interested applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in asphalt paving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises all phases of a paving operation such as employees, maintenance of equipment and distribution of product.
- Responsible for choosing techniques and defining asphalt means and methods, including paving layout and asphalt pulls as well as quality of final product.
- Responsible for safely operating company equipment and vehicles.
- Responsible for maintenance of equipment.
- Must keep equipment lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping. Report needed equipment repairs to Superintendent.
- Responsible for planning, organizing and coordination of daily activities and work assignments for your team.
· Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management and fellow employees.
- Responsible for deliveries, production, record keeping, including crews’ hours and project quantities, and submitting information using email.
- Must have a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications. Ability to recognize potential problems before breakdowns occur.
- Must have the ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 years of experience in Asphalt Paving
- Valid Driver’s License
- Satisfactory Driving Record Required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and construction plans.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to climb onto and up and down equipment several times a day.
- Must be able to sit on equipment and operate it for several hours without stopping.
- Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Work environment periodically exposes the employees to elevated levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction site.
· Employee works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
· Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on a construction site such as grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and asphalt.
