Our company, a locally owned and veteran-operated franchisee of Truly Nolen, seeks a Pest Control Service Technician for our Jacksonville, FL office as we continue to capitalize on the opportunity that Truly Nolen offers.
Position Summary
As a Pest Control Service Technician, you will perform pest prevention through the use of various pesticide applications and Integrated Pest Management solutions such as trapping, mechanical exclusion, and sanitation in a manner that is legal, professional and environmentally conscious while ensuring customer satisfaction. You will be trained to develop new business in your route with the expectation of meeting sales goals.
Essential Job Functions
- Identify and diagnose areas of concern and communicate findings with customers.
- Inspect properties and structures (including attics and sub-crawl spaces.)
- Receive service requests and complete service for all customers according to the established daily schedule.
- Determine most effective treatment type required for findings. Apply pesticides and/or IPM solutions to properties and structures while following safety procedures, label instructions and governing laws.
- Respond in a timely manner to customers’ requests for service
- Operate spraying equipment, bait gun, dust applicator, vacuum and various power and hand tools in performance of duties.
- Drive company vehicle to customers’ homes or places of business. This requires possessing a valid driver’s license and maintaining a good driving record within company equivalency point policy.
- Communicate with customers and company personnel by phone, in person and in writing.
- Obtain and maintain certification/licenses as required by federal, state and local regulations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Acquire new customers, maintain customer base and grow route utilizing sales techniques (customer referrals, clover leafing and creative ideas.)
- Attend training classes, seminars and meetings (may require travel.)
- On call rotation, including weekends.
- Cross-train in other branch positions.
- Maintain clean vehicle and keep equipment in proper operating condition which may involve performing minor equipment repair.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Walking, sitting, standing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling, stepping, climbing, reaching, twisting, turning, grasping, squeezing, pulling, stretching and balancing

- Enter into attics and sub-crawl spaces which may be tight, small, narrow or confined.
- Wear personal protective equipment such as a respirator, dust mask, goggle, gloves, etc.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
