Digital Content Specialist

Truman State University’s Public Relations Office is seeking a digital content specialist responsible for overseeing social media platforms and creating original video projects. The individual must be able to multi-task various projects, prioritizing them to meet tight deadlines. Accuracy is a must. A high standard for quality of work and professionalism is expected. The candidate needs a good understanding of branding and must be able to work within the guidelines of Truman’s brand requirements. Candidates should also have a sense of creativity and understand how to develop engaging content for a variety of platforms. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, on-site position.

Responsibilities

·        Responsible for posting content on University social media platforms, including but not limited to, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X and Threads.

·        Responsible for monitoring University social media platforms.

·        Work with other collaborators to ensure proper use of content in a timely manner.

·        Film, edit and release promotional video content for the University.

·        Ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.

·        Ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds.

·        Ability to prioritize and manage multiple jobs.

The starting salary range for this position is $35,600 annually and commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications

·        A bachelor’s degree, preferably in communication, journalism, marketing, media production or a related field; or commensurate demonstrated proficiency with social media and video production.

·        Experience with social media platforms.

·        Familiarity with digital video cameras.

·        Experience with video editing software.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience with social media monitoring tools.

·        Experience with Mac.

·        Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

·        Experience with livestream video production.
