Position Information Position Title Staff Accountant (Grants) Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include :
- creation and maintenance of grant files
- adding grant funds in the financial system
- training principal investigators and staff on grant policies and procedures
- tracking grant activity in the financial system
- reviewing requisitions for compliance with University and federal grant policies and budget
- creating grant invoices and reports in accordance with billing deadlines
- assisting in the annual single audit and other periodic grant audits
- overseeing effort certification reporting
- assist in reviewing grant budgets during proposal phase
- weekly preparation, drawdown, and reconciliation of grant related funds
- assist in general accounts payable functions
- other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Required qualifications include :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- proficient with software applications Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
- willingness to learn; detail-oriented; dependable and self-motivated
- possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- exhibit professionalism and a strong work ethic; have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- be able to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications include :
- Two years of experience in a business office setting
- experience using enterprise resource planning software system(s)
- experience in fund accounting and budgeting
