- Liberty Local Schools seeks a dedicated and visionary leader for the PreK-2 School Principal position. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment for young students, support staff development, and engage with families and the community. This position requires a passionate educator committed to enhancing student growth and instructional quality at the early education level.
Leadership and Management:
- Manage daily operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers in implementing age-appropriate curricula.
- Develop and oversee school programs and initiatives that promote student learning and achievement.
- Complete OTES and Classified Staff evaluations in accordance with the Liberty Association of School Employees contract and state guidelines.
- Cultivate a safe, nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning for all students.
- Promote social-emotional development and positive behavior interventions.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support diverse learners.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate teachers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
- Provide professional development opportunities and resources to enhance instructional practices.
- Build strong relationships with families and engage them in their child’s education.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, keeping them informed and involved in school activities and decision-making processes.
- Partner with local organizations and community resources to support student and family needs.
- Assessment and Accountability
- Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and improve academic outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and federal laws.
- Previous experience in educational leadership, preferably at the elementary level.
- Master’s degree in Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Valid administrative license or certification or ability to obtain.
- OTES 2.0 Credential and OSCES Credential or ability to obtain.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices in early education.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience implementing curriculum and assessments aligned with state standards, including the Science of Reading.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and social-emotional learning strategies.Ability to foster collaboration among staff, families, and community members.
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students and staff for extended periods.
- Capacity to respond to emergencies and manage student behavior in various situations.
- This position may require occasional evening and weekend school events and activities commitments.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
