What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver -- Mathews Local Schools position at Trumbull County ESC?
Position:
The Mathews Local School District will pay for new driver training provided that the candidate is able to meet the following conditions:
Driver training includes 15 classroom hours and up-to 30 hours of training with the On Board Instructor in the bus, 2 hours for CDL license testing.
In exchange for the district's investment, a commitment of working for the district for a minimum of one school year is expected.
***** The District will pay wages for the training after the completion of a month of successful service to the district up to 47 hours.
This is a full 5 hour route. The District will also add additional hours in another classification, such as custodial, food service, or educational aide (requires license) for those in need of 8 hours and additional benefits.
Additional field trips and athletic trips are offered at a non-reduced rate. Drivers exceeding 40 hours will receive time and a half rate.

- Passes a pre-employment drug screening
- Has a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Meets or exceeds the requirements of the physical examination
- Passes all State mandated testing for bus driver certification
- Successful screening interview with the Superintendent and Transportation Supervisor
- Can display a work history that displays dependability, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
