- Valid Ohio State Board of Education license: Interpreter for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Fluent in American Sign Language.
- Successful BCII & FBI background checks.
- Able to facilitate communication between deaf and hearing individuals.
- The salary schedule begins at $34,146 for an associate's degree, and $38,076 for a bachelor's degree.
- TCESC Interpreters work a 184-day contract.
- TCESC pays 90 percent of the Interpreter's healthcare premium each month.
- Interpreters accrue paid sick leave and also have three personal days per year.
- TCESC pays for a $50,000 life insurance policy.
- Funds are available for partial tuition reimbursement.
