- PARAPROFESSIONAL - We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to students, assist with personal care tasks, and help foster a safe, nurturing, and effective learning environment. The Paraprofessional will operate under the school of placement calendar and perform duties as assigned by the supervising teacher and/or administration.
- As per the Negotiated Agreement.
- One-on-One Support: Provide individualized assistance to students, including academic, behavioral, and social support, ensuring student engagement and participation.
- Personal Care: Assist students with personal hygiene, including diaper changing and toileting, maintaining dignity and comfort at all times.
- Lifting and Mobility Support: Safely lift, move, or transfer students as needed to support physical activities, classroom positioning, and other mobility needs.
- Feeding Assistance: Support students during meal times, which may include feeding assistance and monitoring dietary restrictions.
- Data Collection: Record and maintain accurate data on student progress, behaviors, and other relevant activities to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral goals.
- Classroom and School Support: Perform other duties as assigned, such as preparing classroom materials for the targeted student/s, assisting with lessons, and participating in school activities.
- Available 2024/2025 School Year.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional certification or experience in special education or related field is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move students safely, with training as needed.
- Experience working with children, particularly in a one-on-one or special education setting, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to lift and move up to [appropriate weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs] regularly.
- Capability to stand, walk, and move throughout the day as required.
