What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority?
This position performs a variety of professional-level staff activities which are primarily oriented toward the analysis of confidential financial data and budget information and the preparation of interim and year-end financial reports for the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Essential Duties:
- Conducts budget and financial studies by collecting, analyzing and compiling highly complex data.
- Prepares reports and recommendations based on findings.
- Confers with Agency administrators in such areas as budgetary and financial management and economic analysis.
- Develops and presents written and oral presentations on budgetary and financial management matters to upper management.
- Maintains the current status of the Authority’s financial position by reviewing and interpreting revenue and expenditure data.
- Prepares periodic and special purpose financial reports in graphic, pictorial, tabular, written and oral form.
- Surveys and investigates practices, procedures and methods in private and public firms in order to identify solutions to problems and make improvements in operations.
- Analyzes the possible effects proposed laws, regulations and codes that affect or may affect the budgetary and financial activities of the Authority.
- Analyzes and makes recommendations on budget requests and prepares budget proposals.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews of policy and procedures related to the Authority’s financial management; makes recommendations and implements changes.
- Assists with compliance of site-based and overall agency financial processes and reporting.
- Assists with cash management and investment of funds.
- Facilitates application of computer software for optimum efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes and reporting.
- Assists with training agency personnel on budget development and financial compliance requirements.
- Assesses and assists with compliance of NSPIRE, PHAS, SEMAP, and other grading systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
