What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private/Mini Bar Attendant position at Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago?
Position Overview
Minibar Attendant is responsible for all activities related to Mini Bar, which includes organization, preparation, and performing service as per standards set by the hotel. Provides a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service consistent with departmental standards in order to maximize guest satisfaction during their stay.
Qualifications and Physical/Mental Requirements
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
Specific Position Requirements
- To handle and organize all inventories required by Mini Bar, including inventory of expiration dates and FIFO rotation of all stock.
- To understand, accurately follow and perform Mini Bar procedures as per standards and policies and procedure in place.
- To consistently replace Minibar items in guest rooms per consumption.
- To observe and maintain daily condition of all physical facilities and equipment related to Minibar operation
- To have full understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on our minibar menu
- To perform and adhere to established standards of the preparation, presentation and delivery of high quality, yet discreet and unobtrusive service to our guest.
- Be courteous and display a professional attitude to the guests at all times.
- To establish a rapport with guest, providing guest recognition and good customer relationships.
- To ensure that the place of work and the surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times
- To monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and waste.
- Read departmental bulletin board on a daily basis in order to remain current on information regarding the day’s business.
- To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
- To be able to handle complaints or guests concerns.
- To give feedback on guest comments to the management.
- To communicate with other departments to ensure a supporting team of professionals.
Position Responsibilities
- To understand and strictly adhere to the rules & regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform at all times.
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
- To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by management/ supervisor
- To respond to any changes in the department’s functions as directed by the hotel.
- Take breaks only as scheduled by management/ supervisor
- Have all side-work and daily responsibilities done by the end of the shift
- Checks with management before leaving.
- To attend and contribute to all Staff meetings, Departmental and Hotel training scheduled and other related activities.
- Shift schedules will be flexible, working both AM, PM, and Overnight shifts.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management
