TRUMPF is seeking candidates for an internship in the Internal Logistics Department in our Farmington, CT location. This internship will provide a college-level student with practical and professional experience that will enhance and compliment their classroom learning. This internship will be May 2025 to December 2025 for at least 32 hours a week.
As an Internal Logistics Intern, you will be an integral part of our logistics team, focusing on optimizing our warehouse operations. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, working on projects that directly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics processes.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
Project Involvement: Assist in the development and implementation of warehouse projects focusing on material storage and retrieval efficiency.
Material Flow Analysis: Analyze the flow of materials into the warehouse to optimize storage strategies and minimize retrieval times.
Storage Optimization: Work on material placement strategies in the warehouse to facilitate faster pull times, reducing overall operational delays.
Cycle Counting: Participate in developing and refining cycle counting processes to maintain accurate inventory levels and identify discrepancies.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools to gather, store, and analyze data related to warehouse operations, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with the logistics team to understand operational challenges and contribute to solutions.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project progress and findings for management review.
Continuous Improvement: Actively engage in identifying areas for process improvements and suggest innovative solutions.
Education
Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited university or institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field
