We are seeking a Wireless Telecom Construction Manager with MW experience to join our team!
***Must have cellular construction experience working on T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T wireless sites****
The Construction Manager (CM) will lead and oversee wireless construction projects in the Chicago area, supporting our client T-Mobile. This includes managing work on various site types. The ideal candidate will have strong construction management experience within the wireless industry and a solid working knowledge of microwave network development.
While this is not a microwave-only construction role, microwave experience is required to support the broader wireless deployment initiatives. The CM will work closely with internal teams and client representatives to provide construction management oversight, solve problems, drive progress, and ensure successful project delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee construction of wireless telecom sites, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
- Participate in site walks to assess feasibility, scope, cost, and timelines; develop comprehensive scopes of work (SOWs) for both wireless and microwave-related components.
- Plan and monitor construction activities, identifying critical milestones, resolving on-site issues, and proactively addressing potential delays.
- Coordinate with contractors, design consultants, utility companies, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with permits, regulations, and local codes.
- Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently to meet project goals; lead constructability reviews and oversee project closeout.
- Provide technical input on microwave deployment, including site readiness and network design feasibility.
- Ensure clear communication between field crews, project managers, and clients; attend client and stakeholder meetings as needed.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports to management and ensure implementation of all company policies and safety standards.
- Maintain strong community relations and serve as the primary point of contact for all construction-related activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervises General Contractors and crews, deliveries, integration, etc.
· Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work and resolving problems.
- Function as the primary strategic leader of the assigned projects with responsibility for all aspects of the project construction, including client and Landlord satisfaction, schedule adherence, financial performance, safety and quality.
- Primary liaison with field work/construction and the Lead PM in the office.
- Ensure standards are met with the objective of exceeding client expectations through driving experience, communicating follow-up actions to the team as necessary.
- Maintain effective communication habits.
- Ensure good safety practices.
- Understand all government regulations affecting the construction of the wireless industry, ensuring all entities are operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
Required Qualifications
· Ability to redline CDs, read and interpret an RFDS, and lead on design scoping calls with the client
· 3–5 years of wireless telecom construction management experience.
· Hands-on experience working with or overseeing microwave installs and upgrades.
· Familiarity with Ceragon and Nokia MW equipment preferred.
· Ability to professionally work within a team, working with multiple project managers simultaneously
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
· Motivated and self-driven with the ability to perform tasks independently

Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent; bachelor’s or technical degree a plus.
- 5–10 years in telecom with increasing responsibilities in field/construction and MW network integration.
- Experience with electrical and building permitting processes.
