We are seeking a Wireless Telecom Permit Technician in the Raleigh area to join our team!
***Must have experience working on T-Mobile and/or AT&T wireless sites****
The Permit Technician will report to the Site Acquisition Manager and be responsible for collecting necessary documentation from various business partners and preparing permit and/or zoning application packages that meet the requirements of the applicable South Florida jurisdiction(s). The purpose of this position is to ensure timely permit/zoning submittals for wireless cell site construction to the appropriate jurisdiction(s).
The Permit Technician will work closely with project teams and governmental agencies to proactively identify requirements and potential issues, facilitating appropriate resolutions to keep timelines on schedule. This role requires participation in conference calls and meetings to report on permit status, utilization of online resources for quality control, and collaboration with government agencies to ensure compliance with telecommunication industry standards and requirements. As an integral member of our team, the Permit Technician plays a key role in ensuring consistent project flow and contributing to a positive customer experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine and understand all jurisdiction submittal requirements as they apply to the cellular communication industry.
- Prepare all permit/zoning application(s) and supporting documents in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
- Collect and organize all relevant documentation from clients, contractors, or other responsible parties in preparation for submittal.
- Obtain required signatures from clients, landlords, general contractors, electrical contractors, or authorized agents.
- Submit complete permit/zoning packages via online platforms, trackable mailing services, or personal delivery per jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure all submittals are properly documented and tracked.
- Monitor permit review status and approval timelines, providing updates to the internal team to meet or exceed project expectations.
- Oversee the full permitting process, including document revisions, responding to jurisdictional comments, and resolving permit-related issues.
- Report directly to the Site Acquisition Manager and collaborate closely with them to ensure consistent and efficient permitting operations.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple project managers simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks independently.
- Ability to travel to local jurisdictions, client offices, or contractor offices as necessary.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with permitting standards and requirements in South Florida jurisdictions.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent, three to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including cell site acquisition experience.
- Minimum of two years’ (2) experience working in the South Florida area, preferably in wireless, telecommunications, and/or construction.
- Construction experience is preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass a drug screening and background test.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
