We are adding to our team in Dedham MA and seeking a Material Planning Manager to lead purchasing of fruit and vegetables for our manufacturing plants located in Havre de Grace, MD and Chico, CA. This is a high energy, high growth organization. Successful candidates will be able to operate through all levels of the organization and align processes and systems to fully execute the companys strategy of growth. This position will ensure the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness of purchases within the TruRoots organization. This involves writing, tracking, and ensuring POs arrive on time, as well as working directly with our vendors to ensure they are delivering product as contracted. Additional responsibilities include managing inventory, and performing purchasing and inventory analysis.
This position will either be based in Dedham MA as a hybrid role or remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with procurement to understand sourcing plan for portfolio of fruits and vegetables
- Correspond with vendors (new and existing) to ensure product arrives on-time and collaborate on ways to solve supply issues. This will involve calls and meetings outside of normal business hours as our vendors are global
- Work with marketing, procurement, and R&D to prioritize sample requirements to ensure we are buying only approved supply
- Order portfolio of materials with appropriate inventory level and safety stock to both meet inventory targets and allow flexibility in finished goods scheduling
- Work with planning team to understand future scheduling and ensure new/longer lead time materials are ordered
- Manage settings in Demand Caster to drive appropriate plan
- Communicate and provide solutions to mitigate/solve supply chain issues
- Ability to track and manage multiple items, vendors, and purchase orders
- Capability and desire to develop strong relationships with vendors and be assertive when necessary to ensure our business needs are met
- Knowledge of business issues, understanding of cross-functional relationships, industry knowledge and use of best practices
- Setting/assigning goals, financial acumen, use of analytics to drive execution
- Problem solving, analytical and project management skills
- 5 years of purchasing or analyst experience
- Bachelors degree required with emphasis in Business / Supply Chain; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience in procurement and business operations, systems; Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
- Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to support tactical and operational needs, while maintaining focus on strategic objectives
- Proven analytical and decision-making skills to support effective buying decisions, problem resolution, process improvements cost reductions, etc.
- Detailed oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities and organize daily activities.
- Solutions driven and action oriented
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for communicating, influencing, collaborating, and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organization boundaries and with diverse teams within a manufacturing environment. Experience in peer-to-peer collaboration and managing upward through the organization.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a proven ability to develop and analyze complex issues
- Ability to quickly grasp (intuition) key business drivers
