What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surveyor / GPS Technician position at TruSource Solutions?
- We are seeking an experienced Surveyor/GPS Technician with a background in civil construction.
- The ideal candidate will be passionate about heavy highway and civil construction projects, including earthwork, paving, structures, and underground utilities.
- Provide construction layout data and machine control/survey models to support field production.
- Create, manage, and maintain project layout data and machine control files.
- Establish and maintain standardized GPS survey models for project operations.
- Schedule and coordinate work with field operations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for GPS construction layout.
- Perform calculations related to alignments, drainage, structures, and roadway modeling.
- Conduct quality control checks on data and survey calculations.
- Collaborate with field teams to guide the utilization of GPS construction data.
- Address problems and adapt to changing project needs.
- Perform job duties while upholding company values.
- May lead or direct the work of others.
- Minimum of six months of experience in GPS and construction field layout, particularly in heavy civil construction.
- Proficient with Trimble survey equipment and software (Trimble Business Center, GPS base, and Rover).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with heavy highway and survey practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting project demands.
- Prior experience in heavy civil construction.
- Six months of hands-on experience with GPS and construction layout.
