- Truss Assemblers precut wooden parts and cut to length wooden parts to build trusses and similar supports or wall sections used in building construction: Moves specified precut parts to the work area and positions parts in the jig by hand following the supervisor’s instructions and blueprint specifications. Places metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connect parts at joints using a hammer, screwdriver, and saws. or pneumatic staple gun. Verifies dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly using ruler and gauges. Ensures proper safety and incident reporting, reviews layout and cut sheets, and verifies the correct wood materials, length, grade, and size. Correctly set up a jig with team members for each specific truss in pre-production. Apply the correct plate sizes during assembly per design, check the quality of the product, and verify critical specifications, such as heel height, seat cuts, depths, spans, and squareness of the truss. Assemble truss with team members, ensure components comply with required standards from regulatory agencies, stack and bundle trusses, collect all tools and equipment at the end of each shift and return tools in the proper place, and secure job site at the end of each shift and restock connectors as needed Workers must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- There are six (6) openings for temporary, full-time employment for truss assemblers.
- Workers will be paid no less than $18.91p/hour and $28.37 for all hours worked over 40 hours in one workweek; returning workers may be paid a higher wage rate due to experience, location, and merit. Overtime may be available but not guaranteed.
- Workers must have at least three months of experience in truss assembly techniques.
- The employer will provide on-the-job training to properly use equipment and safety techniques.
- Employer will offer 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 5:00
PM to 3:00 AM; depending on weather conditions, work on Saturdays may be required. - Workers are needed to begin work on 04/01/2025 through 12/15/2025.
- The employer will assist the workers with housing accommodations by helping them contact local rental agencies.
- The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly by check. The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The transportation payment or reimbursement amount will equal the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals with receipts will be provided at least $15.88 p/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 p/day.
- The employer will provide workers at no charge with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
- The employer will provide daily transportation to and from the job site by providing the workers with a vehicle. Workers can use the vehicle for personal use, and the employer will maintain the maintenance, fuel, and insurance.
- Workers will be provided daily transportation to and from the designated pick-up location at the Sioux Falls, SD, central office. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visas, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government.
