Scope of Responsibilities
· Perform Laboratory Tests: Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests, including blood and urine analysis, microbiological cultures, hematology, immunology, chemistry, and other diagnostic tests as required.
· CLIA Compliance: Ensure that all laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with CLIA regulations. This includes maintaining documentation for quality control, proficiency testing, calibration, and all other necessary compliance records.
· Quality Control & Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control programs to ensure test accuracy and precision. Record and report results according to established protocols. Participate in proficiency testing and corrective action procedures as needed.
· Test Result Interpretation: Review and interpret laboratory test results, ensuring that they meet established quality standards. Notify the laboratory supervisor or physician of any abnormal results or discrepancies.
· Instrument Maintenance and Calibration: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, troubleshooting and addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
· Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CLIA and other relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CAP, HIPAA) and ensure adherence to laboratory accreditation requirements.
· Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all laboratory records, including test results, quality control data, and maintenance logs, are accurately documented and stored in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
· Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with laboratory supervisors, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.
· Safety and Infection Control: Follow established protocols for infection control and safety, including handling and disposing of biological samples, chemicals, and hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
· Training and Development: Mentor and train new laboratory staff, providing guidance on best practices, CLIA regulations, and laboratory techniques.

Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
· Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by a recognized body (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
· CLIA Certification: Knowledge and experience working in a CLIA-certified laboratory.
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
· Proficient in laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety procedures.
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Hourly Non-Exempt
· Work Environment – This position operates in a clinic environment and requires use of laboratory equipment. Job requires prolonged standing and walking.
