What are the responsibilities and job description for the Relationship Manager position at Trust Company of Vermont?
The Trust Company of Vermont is seeking a Relationship Manager for our Burlington office. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and has worked with high-net-worth clients providing a range of estate, financial, and investment planning advice. This position will be responsible for providing a high level of care to our clients, while working closely with Gatekeepers, Trust Administrators, and Portfolio Managers ensuring all needs are being met. A qualified candidate must be highly organized, well-spoken, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a main point of contact for existing clients and work with external gatekeepers to maintain and develop relationships.
- Manage complex relationships and assist in analysis and development of solutions across estate, tax, and financial planning.
- Be or become proficient with eMoney financial planning software to create financial and estate plans and projections for clients as well as present the strategies to clients.
- Work collaboratively with both internal employees and gatekeepers and overseeing the implementation of recommendations.
- Meet with prospective clients to discuss their needs and develop a comprehensive plan to meet them.
- Review accounts to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Participate and/or oversee projects from initiation through completion.
- Review processes/procedures to help with efficiencies and workflow.
- Continue to gain knowledge in specialized areas including taxes, trust
Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant work experience with a high degree of professionalism.
- Highly organized with great interpersonal skills and the ability to meet time constraints in a high demand environment.
- An understanding of matters related to income, gift, and estate taxes, investments, employee benefits, insurance, and personal and philanthropic wealth transfer strategies.
- Analytical expertise, high degree of accuracy with attention to detail required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and high reputation in local community.
- Team player, willing to jump in wherever our growing company needs help.
- Strong computer skills, including financial software, CRM, Excel and PowerPoint.
