We seek a dynamic and creative Community Engagement Specialist to join our team and help create and strengthen connections with our potential audience.
Position Overview:
The full time Community Engagement Specialist will play a critical role in developing and executing community-focused initiatives that enhance the firm’s brand, foster meaningful connections, and position Trust Guss Injury Lawyers as a trusted partner within the local Houston area. This role involves building relationships, organizing and conducting “offsite” events and deployments, and creating campaigns that reflect the firm’s mission and values while driving awareness and referrals. Leveraging our exclusive sponsorship of all University of Houston athletics will be a key focus of your work. As part of this role, you will be responsible for driving and deployment of the “Trust Guss bus,” a van wrapped with firm signage and logo. You do NOT need a commercial driver’s license, but a clean driving record will be required. Also, please note that some after-hours and weekend time will be required to staff community events. This time will either be offset with comp time during normal working hours and/or otherwise compensated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development, formation, and execution of offsite events and deployments of the “Trust Guss bus” and other similar community engagement activities.
- Establish and foster mutually beneficial working relationships with local schools, non-profits, and other community organizations to find and execute “win/win” community engagement activities.
- Maximizing leverage and utilization of our partnership with University of Houston athletics.
- Work with other members of the marketing team and outside vendors in order to support and assist in other marketing projects and endeavors.
Optimal Qualifications & Skills:
- 2-3 years of experience in community engagement, event planning, and public relations, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a dynamic and engaging personality, and the ability to build relationships across diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and CRM systems is a plus.
- Passion for community building and commitment to the mission of helping individuals and families in need.
- A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
