Role: |
|
To originate, manage, and supervise a portfolio of commercial loans, with overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships in credit union's southern market. |
|
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: |
| - Assumes responsibility for the management of the business services regional and personal annual goals. Responsible for monitoring the progress of and ensuring the Credit Union's department goals and objectives are achieved per respective region.
|
| - Takes applications for commercial loan business. Reviews member financial condition and assesses the member's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
|
| - Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the Credit Union. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the Credit Union's client base.
|
| - Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date member files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
|
| - Represents the credit union as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
|
| - Authorizes release of collateral on existing loans, changes in loan terms, waivers of payments, due date change, etc.
|
| - Assists members with any loan-related questions and concerns.
|
| - Assists in collection of past due loans.
|
| - Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements: |
| 1. | Achieve or exceed budgeted loan volume (dollars and/or numbers) as assigned. |
| 2. | Ensure loan decisions are made and relayed to appropriate parties within a timely manner. |
| 3. | Maintain below policies delinquency rate and/or managing repayment plans. |
| 4. | Ensure loan decisions are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Lending regulations, policies and procedures. |
| 5. | Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Ensuring clear communication between all respectable parties. |
| 6. | Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates. |

Knowledge and Skills: |
|
Experience | At least ten years similar or related experience. |
|
|
Education | (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal business lending schooling recognized in the industry as business lending certification. |
|
|
Interpersonal Skills | Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy. |

|
Other Skills | Must have experience in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses. Must have excellent communication and personal relations skills which will assist in TruStar's mission to enrich the lives of our members and the communities that we live and work in. |

Physical Requirements | FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together. TALKING: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. REPETITIVE MOTION: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. |

Work Environment | No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. Travel will be required but all locations are within one to two hours and mileage is paid. |
