Responsibilities:
-APD consumers
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Help with meal planning and preparation
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and organizing
- Ensure client safety and well-being at all times
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions
- Monitor and document changes in client's condition or behavior
- Assist with transportation to appointments or outings
Skills:
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Understanding of resident rights and ability to advocate for clients
- Familiarity with medical systems and ability to follow care plans
- Proficiency in medication administration and ability to handle emergencies
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Ability to work collaboratively with nurses or other healthcare professionals
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client transportation needs
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting or assisting clients with mobility challenges
- Strong communication skills for effective behavior management
