Neurosurgical Biller

Must have Athena EMR Software Experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims for neurosurgical procedures using Athena billing software.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Maintain compliance with medical billing regulations and neurosurgical coding standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, administrative staff, and insurance companies to streamline the billing process.
• Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and improve efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in medical billing, specifically in neurosurgery.
• Proficiency in Athena billing software is required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, neurosurgical procedures, and coding standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CCS).
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance.
