To excel in this role as a Cath Lab Technologist, you will need formal training in radiologic technology from an AMA-approved school, meeting requirements for ARRT registry. A Basic EKG Course is also required. Preferred education includes a BS in Radiology or equivalent, while preferred experience consists of one year providing Cardiac Cath, Radiology Care. Certified technologists should hold credentials from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in computed tomography or be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists. State licenses are necessary if required. Additionally, American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are expected.
