Legal Assistant - Personal Injury Litigation

Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a busy and collegial plaintiff's personal injury law firm in its search for a Legal Assistant to support a Shareholder specializing in plaintiff's personal injury (med mal, products liability, catastrophic injury cases). This is a direct hire role out of the firm's Philadelphia offices.

Qualifications of the Personal Injury Litigation Legal Assistant include but are not limited to:

• 5 years of legal assistant experience in plaintiff's personal injury (experience with medical malpractice and catastrophic injury strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Philadelphia court rules and filing procedures required.
• Knowledge of NJ filing procedure is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of service procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to provide assistance during all phases of litigation process (including legal intake, preparation of documents, calendaring, and filing).
• Experienced in gathering and organizing medical records.
• Integrity and self-motivation.
• Extremely organized.
• Team player spirit.
• Passion for doing good work for the injured.
• Dictaphone experience is a plus.
• Ability to reliably commute and work onsite out of the firm's Philadelphia offices.

All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time. Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.

Primary duties of the Personal Injury Litigation Legal Assistant include but are not limited to:

• Speaking with potential clients and obtaining case facts (acting as first line of contact with pre-litigation clients);
• Filing and service of pleadings, motions, and all court documents.
• Maintaining organized and indexed files.
• Gathering medical records, organizing records, and indexing.
• Working collaboratively with team members including Shareholder and paralegal.
• Other duties as needed.

Salary range: $60K - $75K, commensurate with experience; benefits (including employer paid medical), 401(k) with match.

40 hour work week, 9-5, no OT.

This is an onsite position, and the attorney would like the Legal Assistant to be in office 5 days a week. This is a great opportunity to directly support a great group of people who are passionate about the work they do!
