What are the responsibilities and job description for the Debt Finance Legal Assistant position at Trustpoint.One?
Trustpoint One is pleased to assist a leading law firm in its search for a Debt Finance Legal Assistant with strong Uniform Commercial Code experience. The Legal Assistant will provide guidance and assistance with respect to UCC filings and searches and corporate document retrievals to all assigned practice areas in the Firm.
Debt Finance Legal Assistant duties include:
- Coordination of lien search projects and analysis of results
- Review of relevant security or pledge agreements or aircraft mortgages or leases
- Preparation of UCC Financing Statements, Amendments, Assignments, Continuations and Terminations
- Review and audit UCC filings to ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements
- Coordination of UCC filing projects
- Compile and review UCC filing acknowledgments
- Ensure proper entry of UCC filing data into Firm’s UCC Tool database
- Follow up with relevant parties regarding UCC expiration notifications
- Provide training on UCC filing preparation, lien search ordering and use of UCC Tool database
- Assist with UCC seminar presentations
- Manage workflow to ensure deadlines are met
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5
- Strong familiarity of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
- 3-5 years UCC and debt finance experience in a corporate or law firm environment
- Clear and concise writing skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of word processing software
- Ability to follow through on projects
- Ability to work under pressure and with a variety of personalities
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and long hours
- All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
