Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Structural Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. This role involves leading structural design and analysis for residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in wood and steel framing, concrete foundation design, and code compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural components for residential and light commercial projects.
- Conduct calculations for wood and steel framing, reinforced concrete foundations, spread footings, retaining walls, and crawl spaces.
- Interpret and apply national codes and standards, including IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
- Stay updated on industry standards, techniques, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Resolve project challenges efficiently and ensure project timelines are met.
- Work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Licensed Structural Engineer (PE preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on residential and light commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of wood and steel framing, concrete structures, and industry codes.
- Experience working with home builders, architects, and developers.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
