We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Director to develop and oversee engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our assisted living residents. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic schedule of social, recreational, and wellness activities tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Coordination:
- Design and implement a variety of activities, including social events, physical exercise programs, arts and crafts, music, games, outings, and educational sessions to promote engagement and socialization.
- Develop monthly activity calendars that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with caregivers, nursing staff, and families to ensure resident needs are met.
- Partner with local community organizations, entertainers, and volunteers to enhance programming.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents and their families to ensure feedback is incorporated into activity planning.
Administrative & Compliance Duties:
- Manage the activities budget, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality programming.
- Comply with state and federal regulations regarding resident activities and wellness programs.
- Ensure all activities follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreational Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
