Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country. Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere.  In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Week.

For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time. #LI-remote

This Opportunity 

We are seeking an Associate General Counsel who would partner with our General Counsel to handle all the legal needs of Truveta.  Our near-term focus will be on (i) establishing contractual relationships with health system data providers and customers seeking to use Truveta’s innovative health data platform for medical research and (ii) building out a comprehensive framework to enable research on data at scale while meeting regulatory requirements. 

Responsibilities

• Bring clear legal analysis, a strong moral compass, and vision to our strategic discussions
• Lead the negotiations of complex agreements with data suppliers and customers, addressing data use, privacy, security, and intellectual property
• Assure compliance with all applicable laws
• Advise internal teams on legal matters and risk mitigation strategies
• Strengthen and ensure compliance with the company’s internal privacy and security practices
• Represent Truveta effectively in discussions with potential data suppliers, customers, regulators and others

Key Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in technology contracting, with additional experience in privacy, data security, or intellectual property preferred
• JD or equivalent from an ABA accredited law school
• An active license to practice law in the United States
• Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• The base pay for this position is $200,000 to $225,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
