General Summary:

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can conduct their duties consistently and competently in the absence of direct daily supervision. This candidate should possess a level of maturity and subject matter knowledge to be able to solve problems and ensure requirements are accomplished without micro-management. Initiative, communication, commitment to safety, and an ability to learn are paramount to this position’s success. The primary function is to maintain and repair physical structures of buildings and equipment by performing the duties listed below:

Essential Job Functions:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform building inspections (30 locations)
  • Perform general maintenance resulting from inspections
  • Perform light construction duties, to include painting, drywall, etc.
  • Coordinate and assist contractors with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc., as needed
  • Install / Remove vehicle aftermarket accessories
  • Perform minor repairs on vehicles or trailers
  • Assist with Office moves
  • General maintenance duties, to include cleaning gutters, changing air filters, etc.
  • Must perform all jobs in a safe manner
  • Wear personal protective equipment and set the example for other employees
  • May perform Courier duties – MUST possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Required to meet DOT standards to include Medical Certification to operate commercial motor vehicle
  • Ensure a safe work environment is provided at all facilities
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management
  • Occasional out of state or overnight trips may be required.

Knowledge of telecommunications equipment, tools, and working environments to direct others in the successful performance of their duties.
  • Communications - Speaks clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations, listens, gets clarification, and responds well to questions. Adept at composing professional business correspondence.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on resolving conflict vs. blaming others, maintains confidentiality and is open to coaching and new ideas. Advocates for needs and changes in all aspects of the company.
  • Teamwork – Provides and welcomes feedback, contributes to a positive team spirit, and supports team member efforts to succeed.
  • Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures and completes administrative tasks correctly
  • Planning and Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work effectively, is punctual, and uses work time efficiently
  • Interpretation – Able to read, analyze, and interpret instructions, contracts, policies, documents and regulations
  • Computer Skills – Possesses knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Flexibility – Must be able to work outside normal business hours when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; some technical college preferred; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to two years of maintenance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general building and grounds repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
  • Skill in operating various hand and power tools safely
  • Skill in operating various grounds and maintenance equipment including truck and trailer
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Adobe PDF
  • Time management and the ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to travel between locations as needed
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must undergo pre-employment background check to include Criminal, Credit, and Driving History – results must be acceptable
  • Must remain in compliance with any federal/state/local regulations, as well as TruVista company policies and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Commercial Driver’s License (A or B)
  • OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Certification
  • Experience in Welding
  • Experience in HVAC

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to wear PPE on a constant or regular basis, including but not limited to safety-toe boots, gloves, glasses, or hearing protection without physical restriction. The employee is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; crouch for more than 15 minutes at a time; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to climb stairs and ladders in excess of 16 feet tall safely and perform work aloft. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle on a daily basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
