Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. This role is key to ensuring accurate, competitive bids and helping clients navigate the project planning process. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction estimating, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects (residential & commercial).
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope, conditions, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and suppliers to gather pricing and material information.
- Maintain and update databases of material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing.
- Ensure bids align with company profit goals while remaining competitive.
- Present estimates to management and assist in bid reviews.
- Adjust estimates as needed based on client feedback or project changes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and local building codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (site visits required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction-specific estimating.
- Knowledge of the Florida Panhandle market and climate-related construction challenges.
- Familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
