Position Title : Camp Host - SPRA
Location : Pollock Pines, CA and 95726
Duration : April to September (Assignment duration can change based on EID's needs)
Work Schedule : Day / Mid Day (Work assignments are limited in duration (seasonal) and are based on a full-time basis (on-site) during the recreation season; days and hours will vary with weekend and holiday work required)

SUMMARY : Under supervision, assist recreation staff with processing campers, selling firewood and providing visitor service functions in a park and recreation setting.
Field environment consistent with living and representing an example of responsible stewardship in a recreation area and indicative of semi-remote conditions.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES : The duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this class and are not intended to be an inclusive list.
Collect money and maintain records of firewood sales
Clean day use facilities and restrooms
Provide campers and visitors with accurate and concise information about park rules, activities, and directions.
Prepare written reports as needed.
Interact and communicate effectively with the public and District personnel.
Use equipment and tools to perform routine tasks.
Maintain professionalism when working with the public and District personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITY : English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation; ability to read and interpret park rules and regulations; ability to communicate verbally and in written format; ability to answer a wide variety of questions from park visitors and District staff; knowledge and proper use of radio etiquette; ability to schedule time effectively; use good judgment at all times; ability to identify and report a combative or disruptive situation.
On a continuous basis, walk or stand for long periods of time; walking on slopes; climbing in and out of vehicles; intermittently twist and reach cleaning equipment; write and use keyboard to communicate through written means; lift or carry weight of 30 pounds or less.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES :
Education : Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience : Previous experience as a camp host is desirable
Possession of CPR / First Aid card is desirable.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATION :
Licenses and Certificate :
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license at the time of appointment.
