ROLE OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for overseeing the receiving process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness in handling incoming shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the receiving team and coordinate daily receiving activities
- Review incoming truck schedules and strategize with management to prioritize shipments
- Print and review purchase orders for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentations
- Handle split shipments and multiple POs, verifying quantities and product accuracy for each warehouse destination
- Conduct thorough trailer inspections before unloading to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Scan and receive products accurately into the inventory system, resolving any discrepancies promptly
- Communicate effectively with management regarding priority shipments, discrepancies, and operational issues
- Organize and secure product for put away, ensure proper wrapping and labeling for storage
- Monitor and address any bottlenecks in the receiving process to maintain workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with the Put Away team to ensure timely storage of received products and resolve any discrepancies in the receiving bin
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the receiving area, adhering to safety protocols and warehouse standards
- Provide training and guidance to receiving team members to ensure compliance with standard procedures and best practices
- Other duties as requested or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to lift up to 175lbs
- Must be a team player and work well under minimum supervision
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment in all types of weather
- Ability to work required shift as defined
- Available to work overtime as needed
- Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment
- Prior warehouse or distribution center experience
- Prior experience or certification on power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck)
PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Expertise in one or more functional areas within the warehouse
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee will primarily perform work in these areas:
- Warehouse
The noise level in these areas is normally moderate.
