Advanced Care Practitioner - Gynecology & Women's Health
Job Summary: The "Advanced Care Practitioner” for Gynecology provides specialized, advanced women’s health care to patients under the supervision of a gynecologist, including diagnosing and managing conditions, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, educating patients, and collaborating with the healthcare team; often requiring a Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies with a gynecology focus and relevant clinical experience.
(This is a full time position that will support our GYN team at Billingsley, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm)

Job Summary: The "Advanced Care Practitioner” for Gynecology provides specialized, advanced women’s health care to patients under the supervision of a gynecologist, including diagnosing and managing conditions, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, educating patients, and collaborating with the healthcare team; often requiring a Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies with a gynecology focus and relevant clinical experience.

Key responsibilities may include:
- The services provided include prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all issues involving women's health.
- Perform annual and regular preventive examinations on patients to diagnose various gynecological conditions.
- Family planning.
- Conduct physical exams, analyze medical histories and treat problems originating from the female reproductive system and its related hormones.
- Perform various diagnostic tests on patients, which include Pap smears, STD tests, ultrasounds, hormone profile blood tests, colposcopies, and endometrial and vulvar biopsies.
- Explaining test results, diagnoses, and treatment options to patients.
- Coordination of care between the gynecologist and other specialists.
- Educate patients on reproductive health issues and disease prevention.
- Care for transgender people
Requirements:
Education and Certifications:
- Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program with appropriate certification exams.
- Has and maintains current Physician Assistant license with the North Carolina Medical Board or Nurse Practitioner license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
- Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required.
- BLS for healthcare provider from AHA or American Red Cross required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
- Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
- Completion of TB test will be required.
Experience:
- 1 year of experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
- Ability to concentrate on details.
- Use of computer for long periods of time.
